May 31, 2008 Taryn and Alex

Alex and Taryn's wedding was held at the Four Seasons in charming and beautiful Nevis, West Indies. Both the couple and the Four Seasons did an amazing job. One of Taryn's friends asked me how I thought the photos turned out the day after the wedding and we both had a little laugh because honestly it would have been difficult to take a bad picture of such a beautiful, well planned wedding in such an extraordinary setting. Bride's Magazine agreed and they will feature Taryn and Alex's wedding in their December issue.

March 1, 2008 Liz and Jed

Last weekend I traveled to a remote area in the beautiful Dominican Republic for Liz and Jed's wedding. Las Terrenas was truly a special place, right up my alley. The natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere was amazing. Thanks so much to Liz and Jed for sharing it with me! I am very blessed to have incredible couples to work with, it never ceases to amazes me how lucky I am. It was great getting to know Jed, Liz, their family, and friends over the weekend. It was a heartfelt event- that along with the natural beauty of the area was inspiring to me.

The beautiful bride.

We did portraits before the ceremony, which ended up working perfectly. The light was incredible, plus we had plenty of time to play.

The palm trees where unreal.

See what I mean??

Thanks so much Liz and Jed! I hope you are having an incredible time in Buenos Aires.

February 9, 2008 Debbie and Gordon

Wow! I don't even know where to start. Debbie and Gordon's wedding was amazing and I couldn't have asked for two more generous, thoughtful people to work with. One of the exhilarating parts of my job is being around people that are so in love- Debbie and Gordon glowed when they were together. Their families and friends were great too. Gordon's mom was a riot, I could have listened to her tell stories all night.
The wedding was held at Ceiba del Mar in Puerto Morelos, Mexico on the Mayan Riviera. The resort did an amazing job with the food at the welcoming party and the reception. The level of service at the hotel was exceptional, I honestly wanted to move in.

Getting ready...

Loved her dress, so simple and elegant.

Debbie was nervous before the ceremony, but I think she loved beautiful!

Being announced husband and wife.

Great musicians.

I love this shot. Gordon was looking at his wedding ring.
Thanks guys! I had such a great time.

First night in Mexico

Last weekend I traveled to the Mayan Riviera to photograph Gordon and Debbie's wedding in Puerto Morelos. This shot is from the welcoming party the night before the wedding. More to come soon! The wedding was phenomenal! Thanks so much Gordon and Debbie for making me feel so welcomed! You two were so wonderful to work for. What a rude awakening to arrive home to a nearly 80 degree temperature difference... I wish I was still in Mexico!

January 19, 2008 Selena and Eric

I've been to Puerto Rico a few times for weddings but this was my first time on the island's west coast in the charming little surfing town of Rincon. What a fantastic way to start the 2008 wedding season!! Eric and Selena had a lot of adversity to deal with (from lost luggage to rain delaying the ceremony by 1.5 hours!) but they handled it with incredible patience. Planning a wedding is a job in itself and planning a destination wedding adds even more logistics to consider. But they are totally worth it, in my opinion! Selena was so calm through everything, I was in awe of her. The ceremony was delayed by rain but the rain finally stopped and we had a beautiful sunset directly following the ceremony. The reception was a riot, packed with great dancers and tasty Puerto Rican food. Thanks so much Eric and Selena!

Selena was so great, she let me photograph everything! She was not the least bit shy. I burst out laughing when I was editing and found this shot of her holding her breath as her dress was being buttoned up.

Future heartbreaker. I think this cutie made it into about half of the wedding photos!

Selena's beautiful daughter.

Selena and her dad.

Couldn't resist... one more of the ring bearer.

I love the expressions in this photo taken after the ring exchange.

Beautiful sunset.

The dance floor was packed!

Selena and Eric: E-session in Rincon, Puerto Rico

When I shoot destination weddings I always love getting together with the couple to do an engagement session before the wedding. It's a great chance to take advantage of the beauty of the area and the photos always compliment the wedding coverage. Here are a few of Eric and Selena before their wedding in Rincon.

November 17, 2007 Aleta and Deji

I photographed Aleta and Deji's exquisite wedding in Puerto Morelos, Mexico November 17 at Azul Hotel. What an incredible day and an amazing group of people! Aleta and Deji had to manage many of the challenges of planning a destination wedding and they did so in stride. The result was a beautiful day in paradise. I will remember it as one of my favorite weddings of all time (I know it's bad to choose favorites, but too bad!).

Aleta looked perfect in her Vera Wang gown!

We did the portraits beforehand, which ended up working out great!

Deji, looking like a model!

The beautiful sunset ceremony.

This little guy was so cute!

November 3, 2007 Kristen and Ryan

In spite of the tropical storm that blew through the area Kristen and Ryan had a beautiful day for their wedding at Tensing Pen in Negril, Jamaica. I had such a great time getting to know Kristen, Ryan, their friends, and families! Jamaica is always a blast and the wedding was amazing. I can't wait to go back!

Loved the seating chart.

The luminaries were beautiful, Kristen did such an incredible job on all the details.

One happy man...

The reception was so lively, lots of great dancing.

One Love

The day before Ryan and Kristen's wedding in Negril, Jamaica I photographed them at Rockhouse, a great boutique hotel that I was staying at along with some of the other wedding guests. I photographed Meg and Ben's wedding there last year and fell in love with it. The colors on the property are incredible, as you'll see in the photos that are below! I had such a great time shooting Ryan and Kristen, they have such great natural chemistry!

August 5, 2007 Maria and Carlos

Carlos and Maria's wedding in Puerto Rico was such a blast! The rehearsal dinner included authentic Puerto Rican food and Salsa lessons. Thank goodness I was busy photographing the dancing because I would have made a complete fool of myself on the dance floor! I had a great time catching up with Andy and Mindy, whose wedding I photographed a few years back. Thanks for the referral you two! The wedding day was spectacular. Carlos and Maria were just so incredibly relaxed. I absolutely love destination weddings. There were about 50 guests at the wedding, mostly friends from New York City where Carlos and Maria live and work. It was great spending time with the group throughout the weekend! Here are just a few shots:

October 14, 2006 Yara and Khamen

It's a tough life having two destination weddings in just over a month but I survived! :) Yara and Khamen's wedding in Puerto Rico was absolutely amazing. They were both incredibly gracious and a joy to photograph. I loved everything about this wedding from the cultural traditions both Yara and Khamen tied into the wedding to the warmth that surrounded Yara and Khamen from their families and friends- even the people I was sat with for brunch at the reception were cool! And when the reception was over in the late afternoon I strolled out onto the beach and drank a mojito. A perfect day...

Yara totally cracked me up while she was getting ready and she picked up this puzzle featuring Egypt's most famous pharaoh Tutankhamen, and kissed it because he soon to be husband is named Tutankhamen (Khamen for short).

The ceremony was hot, hot, hot! But I wasn't going to complain because it was snowing at home that weekend!

Yara looked so radiant!

Khamen didn't look so bad himself.

Yara and I shot this while Khamen was making a quick wardrobe change. Stunning!

First dance.

A traditional Puerto Rican band performed, they were incredible and had everyone dancing!

Hurricane wedding: Allison and Roopesh September 9, 2006 Bermuda

I felt relieved that Allison and Roopesh were such an incredibly calm, organized, joyful, and crazy in love couple. Having never met them and knowing that Hurricane Florence was threatening Bermuda I was a little concerned that I would encounter a couple who were understandably upset. Not Allison and Roopesh! They put me at ease with their relaxed demeanor. It was quite an experience to say the least. I don't think I'll ever photograph another couple at their wedding being interviewed by ABC News for Good Morning America, that's for certain.

Being interviewed about having a wedding during the hurricane.

Allison dancing with her dad.

There's nothing like an impending hurricane to make people really get down. The party went on strong until midnight. Thanks Allison and Roopesh! I hope you're having a great time in Greece.

The calm before the storm (or should I say Hurricane Florence!!)

I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Bermuda to cover Allison and Roopesh's rehearsal and wedding September 8th and 9th in Bermuda. The calm before the storm refers to the gorgeous weather we had the day before the wedding for the rehearsal which soon gave way to the impending hurricane on Saturday. Here are some shots of the unforgettable rehearsal dinner at the Fairmont Southampton.

I got a kick out of this sign....

The beautiful bride to be, Allison.

The largest bottle of Veuve Cliquot I've ever seen, it was a little tough to open.

Eddie and Ali's wedding in Vermont

Wow, what an incredible weekend I had in Vermont for Eddie and Ali's wedding in Quechee! I have too many favorites from their wedding to post them all! It was a beautiful day and I was happy to share it with Eddie, Ali, their family, and friends.

The Inn was beautiful: here's Ali making her way to the ceremony with her parents.

Having a change of scenery every once in a while is so inspiring for me. Isn't Vermont gorgeous?

My last wedding of the year

What a great way to end the year! Terry and Jiaying were married in Tulum, Mexico Friday November 25. The wedding was beautiful and heartfelt. Terry and Jiaying are truly a special couple, with great families and friends. Here's a few of my favorites from the wedding and engagement session we did a few days before the wedding at the Mayan ruins in Tulum.

Riding the train to the ruins.

They were so much fun to photograph, they have such great chemistry together.

There was a beach at the ruins, so we took advantage of that.

On our way out I noticed this wall, there were such fantastic colors in Mexico!

Jiaying getting ready in her suite.

Terry watching Jiaying walk down the aisle.

I love Jiaying's expression- they had just been pronounced husband and wife.

I love seeing the way couples react right after they finish the recessional.

The hotel was a great backdrop for portraits.

The first dance.
Thanks so much to Terry and Jiaying for hiring me to capture their beautiful wedding day! It was the best way to end a great year of weddings.
